The Population Health Research Institute of New York was established in July of 2017 to support biomedical data science research under the auspices of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. We harness the power of advanced statistical approaches, including machine learning, Bayesian analysis and instrumental variable analysis, to understand disease processes by studying regional, state-level, or national datasets. Our analyses focus on outcome predictive modeling, comparative effectiveness, resource utilization, regional disparities, diffusion of innovation, intensity of care, workforce allocation, medico-legal issues, and cost.
